What can I expect from The Empire Strips Back?
After a sell-out tour, The Empire Strips Back is arriving at The Colonial Theatre, The classic Star Wars characters are dropped into the world of burlesque. Comedy and striptease, loving detail and hilarious parody… Let us deliver you to the dark side.
Where is the experience located?
The Showroom is a unique, modern venue located in the heart of Washington, DC adjacent to Franklin Park and blocks away from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. 1099 14th Street, NW Washington, DC 20005
Is there parking available?
There is a garage in the Washington Post building. It is open 24/7 - the address is 1010 13th Street, NW - One Franklin Square Parking.
Three different stations of the Metro Subway system are within easy walking distance of the WDC:
- - McPherson Square two blocks south (blue, orange, and silver
lines)
- - Metro Center four blocks south (red, blue, orange and silver
lines)
- - Farragut North four blocks west (red line)
Does the experience take place in an indoor or outdoor venue?
The exhibition will be held in an indoor venue.
At what time are doors opened to the theater?
Lobby doors generally open one hour prior to showtime, and the theatre doors open a half hour before.
How long does the experience last?
2 hours total, including a 15 minute intermission at around the 1 hour mark.
Will there be strobe lights?
Yes, strobe effects are used.
Can I take photos or record the experience?
No photos and videos are not allowed during the performance.
Are there chairs available? Can I be seated during the experience/exhibition?
This is a seated theatrical experience.
Will restrooms be available on site?
Yes, there are restrooms at the venue.
Will food and beverage be available on site for purchase?
Yes, we will have snacks, as well as alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
Is there a Lost & Found?
If you happen to lose any belongings during our event, please send us a detailed description of the item, along with the date and time you noticed it missing. Don’t forget to include your contact information. You can reach us at info@theempirestripsback.com.
Is coat check available?
While we do not have a designated area for coats, guests are welcome to keep their coats with them. Please be mindful of the comfort and space of others around you.
What are the prohibited items at the experience? Can I smoke or vape?
We are a non-smoking production. We request your cooperation in respecting this policy across all venues to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.
ACCESS
Do I need to wear a mask?
No, masks are not required. However, the experience will follow all requirements of city authorities, and mask requirements may change.
What happens if I arrive late?
Latecomers will be admitted to the venue upon arrival.
Is there an age requirement?
This show is for those 18+ years of age.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes.
Can I bring animals? Are service dogs allowed?
Service animals are welcome at our event. Please note, the production involves loud noises, confined spaces, and haze which may affect them. We recommend ADA individuals to use our ADA/PMR seating for extra space and comfort for the service animal.
